Everybody needs a little “me time”. Set your alarm a little early and sneak downstairs while the rest of the house is asleep. Prepare, brew and then relax into your thoughts ready to conquer the day ahead.
Method 1 (Cafetiere)
Boil 500ml of water in a kettle, leave lid open for 2 minutes afterwards to bring temperature down.
Stir thoroughly and leave for 5 minutes to steep with the cafetiere lid off.
Place cafetiere lid on and plunge slowly.
Pour out into your coffee mug and top up with water from the kettle to your desired strength (final level will be approximately 300ml)
Pick a quiet place to sit and savour your morning brew.
Method 2 (Stove Top Moka Espresso Pot)
Boil 500ml of water in a kettle, leave lid open for 2 minutes afterwards to bring temperature down.
1.5 tablespoons packed tight into Moka Pot filter.
Add 200ml of water from the kettle to Moka Base.
Add Moka Pot to lit hob. Let it boil through to the top but remove from the stove before its starts gurgling and sputtering the remnants of any remaining coffee – you don’t really want that stuff mixed with your coffee!
Pour Moka Pot boiled contents out into your mug and top up with water from the kettle to your desired strength (final level will be approximately 300ml).
Pick a quiet place to sit and savour your morning brew.
For cleaning your Moka Pot – boil plain water through a normal boil process. This gets all coffee granules cleaned out of the filter so it’s ready for next time.
