If you haven't tried Cold Brew Coffee yet you are in for a real flavour treat. Cold Brew Coffee is super smooth (less acidic) and has an altogether more nutty and subtle flavour than regular "hot" brewed coffee.
Buying Cold Brew Coffee ready made (in a tin or at your local coffee shop) can be quite expensive so see below for my fool proof method to make it at home. The added benefit of making it yourself is that you can take it to work to enjoy later and save the pennies!
Ultimate Cold Brew Coffee in 6 Steps:
1. Start with 1 cup of whole coffee beans (I recommend Lean Caffeine beans of course!) to be used in 4.5 cups of water (1065 ml - just over a litre) - this will give you a strong brew.
2. Grind the coffee beans coarse. If you grind too fine it will cloud up the finished coffee.
3. Add the coarse ground coffee to a large glass container - a large cafetiere/coffee press works. Just make sure the vessel is big enough to accommodate just over a litre of water plus the coffee grounds.
4. Slowly pour in the 4.5 cups of cold water (just over a litre) gently stirring as you pour. You can use bottled or filtered water for a nicer flavour.
5. Cover the container (you can use the press on the coffee press/cafetiere but don't plunge it) and leave in the fridge for 12 hours.
6. Separate the cold brewed coffee from the grinds by either plunging the coffee press (if using) or pouring through a cheese cloth/muslin if not.
The final cold brew coffee will keep for around a week (or just over) in your fridge and you should get 4 mugs of coffee out of it.
You could even use it in your morning bulletproof coffee by gently heating it first before adding to the butter/ghee and C8 MCT oil. This should save you time during the weekdays!
